Expressing her feelings, an emotional Urvashi Pal said that her father remains very busy throughout the year and now on this day, she is feeling blessed after spending a quality time with him and receiving blessings. She further added that she eagerly wait for this moment every year.
Nobody is more important than one’s parents. To show the affection, gratitude and respect to parents and to salute their values, the students of St. Vivekanand Millennium School, HMT Township, Pinjore celebrated Matri Pitri Divas (Parents Worship Day) on 14th February, 2021 by a virtual medium.
The school has been organizing Matri Pitri Divas since last many years under the aegis of Yog Vedant Smiti, Pinjore but this year due to pandemic, it was celebrated online. The programme commenced with the worshipping of the parents by the students according to the instructions given by Acharya Sunil Dutt Gautam. The students were very excited and they religiously followed each and every instruction. All the children dedicated ‘Pious Love’, with pure, guileless and selfless affection, free from desire.
Seeing their children doing their Puja, the guardians’ sentiments got overwhelmed. The Students applied tilak, wore garlands to their parents and circumambulated around them, giving them the likeness of God. The parents of Urvashi Pal, a student of class 6, who came to the school, shared their experience and said that the moment given to them by the school is an invaluable moment.
Mr. Piyush Punj, the school Principal highlighted the need and importance of this special day. He urged everyone to bring a social awakening in every home and human heart by celebrating true love and true valentine in its purest form, the love for parents. He said that the only purpose of this programme is to pass on the Indian rituals and customs to our Children. He also expressed his gratitude towards all the parents for their support in this programme.
The programme concluded with the words of Mrs. Kamal Rai, the School Director. She called upon the students to make their contribution to the welfare of the country. She said that one can serve the country only if one obeys one’s parents and gurus first.
